FIBmate

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 July 2026

Overview

FIBmate is designed to work entirely offline. It does not have a backend, does not collect analytics, does not use advertising or tracking SDKs, and does not create user accounts. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us or to any third party — everything stays on your device unless you personally choose to share it.

Information We Don't Collect

We don't collect your name, email, location history, device identifiers, usage analytics, or any other personal data. We don't use cookies, trackers, or third-party advertising networks. We have no server, so there is nothing for us to receive, store, or lose.

Data Stored on Your Device

To make the app useful, FIBmate stores the following locally on your phone only (never transmitted anywhere):

• Your favorited performances and reminder preferences
• Set ratings/memories you add after a show
• Local toilet-queue reports and hydration counters you log
• A saved meeting point or tent location (GPS coordinates), if you choose to save one
• Your Lighthouse signal code, if customized
• App preferences such as language and battery-saver mode

On iOS this is stored via UserDefaults; on Android via Jetpack DataStore. Both are standard on-device, per-app storage mechanisms that other apps cannot read.

Permissions We Request, and Why

• Location (while using the app): to save and navigate back to your tent or meeting point, and to show live distance to it. Never transmitted or used for tracking.
• Camera: only to scan a friend's plan QR code. No photos or video are stored.
• Microphone: to estimate ambient sound level for the sound-meter gadget. Audio is analyzed in real time on-device and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted.
• Notifications: to remind you before a favorited set starts, and to warn you if noise levels stay high for a while.

Sharing Your Plan

If you choose to share your festival plan, a QR code, or the app itself using the Share sheet, that data leaves your device only because you actively chose to send it, through whichever app or method you picked (Messages, AirDrop, etc.). FIBmate itself never transmits this automatically or to us.

Third-Party Links

FIBmate links out to Apple Maps / Google Maps for directions and to FIB's official website for up-to-date festival information. Those destinations have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.

Children's Privacy

FIBmate does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.

Deleting Your Data

Settings → Your Data lets you clear your saved place or wipe all local app data at any time — instantly, entirely on-device, with no need to contact us.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's own About screen.
